Here is the math nobody runs before they buy one.

Say an employee earns $15 an hour. Shredding 100 pounds of paper on a desktop machine takes them roughly four hours, jams and cool-down cycles included. How Our Shredding Service Works

The process is short on purpose.

We drop off locking containers at no charge. You fill them on your own schedule. When they are full, or when your service date comes around, our truck comes to you and the paper is destroyed on the spot.

Containers come in three sizes and all of them are free:

9 gallon / 35 lb

for a one-person office or a reception desk

32 gallon / 100 lb

for a typical small business

64 gallon / 200 lb

for busy departments and records rooms

A low-volume office usually fills a container every four to six months. Higher-volume clients move to weekly, every two weeks, every four weeks, or quarterly pickups. Whatever the rhythm, it stays the same rhythm.

What happens to your files between the pickup and the shredder? On our trucks, nothing. There is no in-between. The paper goes from your container into the shredding chamber while you stand there, and you can watch the whole thing through the viewing cameras mounted on the truck. Most of our customers watch once, satisfy their curiosity, then never bother again. We would rather you watched.

Every sheet is cut to OEM specification, 5/8 inch cutter width or less. The material never leaves the custody of a NAID member from the moment we take it to the moment it is destroyed.

We handle records governed by HIPAA, FACTA, and GLBA. We are NAID AAA certified, which is the part that matters when an auditor asks you to prove it. You can read more about what NAID AAA certification actually requires, because the term gets thrown around loosely by companies that do not hold it.

For medical practices, HIPAA compliant shredding carries its own documentation requirements, and we handle those too.

Our drivers pass seven-year background checks and drug screening before they ever touch a container. We carry $2 million in liability coverage. Those two facts are not marketing. They are the reason government agencies, hospitals, and law firms in Seattle can put us on an approved vendor list at all.

We also train your staff on compliance at no charge. Free. It takes about an hour and it prevents the two mistakes we see most: paper going in the regular recycling, and confidential files stacked on top of a locked container instead of inside it.

  • Do I have to be there when you shred?
